Kite Film Festival Recap

The Emerald Coast Film Commission was proud to be present during the 2nd Annual Kite Film Festival. Held on November 11th, at Club L.A. in Destin, FL, the festival highlights local talent including actors, producers, editors and directors. The Film Festival presents a unique opportunity to showcase short films to a big audience. This year, 24 short films were selected to screen at the event ranging in various genres including horror, comedy and drama. Films were picked from among local and global submissions.

The 2nd Annual Kite Film Festival showcased local talent in Destin, Florida.

At the end of the night, 13 awards were given out. On the judge’s panel, for the second year in a row, was our very own Gail Morgan. Below is a list of the night’s winners:
Audience Choice: Sur’vi
Best Young Performer: Toby Nichols for Arrow of Light
Best Actor: Nick Leali for One More Time
Best Actress: Dawn Hamil for Until Death
Best Cinematographer: Diana Yifei Dai for If
Best Costume Design: LaVonne French for Sur’vi
Best Director: F. C. Rabbath for One More Time
Best Editor: Kevin Almodovar for Until Death
Best Score: IF
Best Screenplay: Brian White for Helium
Best Short: One More Time
Kite Vision Award: Full Circle
Kite Spirit Award: Kevin Almodovar
